A Good Blog: In the Eyes of Your Readers

The performance of your blog in your marketing campaigns is ultimately dictated by its readers. The comments a blog post gets, the numbers of shares it can derive and the traffic you receive are all factors that affect your SEO and sales numbers. It goes without saying that these three things are also affected by your blog’s most avid visitors.

Now, a hefty amount of traffic and high SEO rankings are indicative of a good blog. After all, these two things are what you should be after if you want to make money off your blog (arguably in all contexts of Internet marketing). How do you make your blog good enough for your audience? Well cuzins, I’ve made a short list of things you’ve got to do to make that blog the best for your prospects. Check it out:

  • It’s got a personality of its own – A blog with a personality that people can identify with is often popular. I mean, check out Perez Hilton or Seth’s blog. They’ve got a zany mix of their own personalities in their respective blogs that they’ve literally made thousands of followers out of people who have the same interest as they. I’m not saying you should completely integrate your personality in your blog, I’m saying you should put in a little bit of the accommodative and caring YOU in it. Focus on your reader, and you’ll do well.
  • It has NEW Ideas – I’m talking about NOT having duplicate content because besides that fact that copying other people’s ideas is not cool and may land you some time behind bars, it could affect your SEO rankings BADLY. There are a lot of ideas flying up in the Interwebs and all you need to do is write from different angles or points of view to make it appear hip and fresh… Like a Boss!
  • It’s strikingly useful – Your blog should serve a purpose in the Interwebs. It’s not only top earn you some mullah, but to help your prospects out with their concerns. You choose a niche from which you can obtain money, right? Well, consider too that you’ve chosen this niche to serve the people therein. Always be customer or prospect focused and you’ll find it easy to make blog posts about industry related issues and topics.
  • It’s updated – Your blog’s gotta have some new things in it cuz. It’s not only industry-related news though, it could also be a new goal you have or that new “industry-related” gadget, gizmo or whatchamacallit you just recently obtained. This would interest your readers in such a way that they want to get updated through your blog.
  • It’s hard to leave – This all depends on the content you make and the buzz you’ve managed to create within your blog. The content’s pretty easy to understand because all you need to do is make compelling articles or videos that would make your readers come back for more. As for the buzz, I mean the interactions you are able to create between you and your readers. So communicate, be nice and hold blog parties. :)

Remember folks, the key to a successful money making blog is to make it fit enough for your audience to love. Let me know what you think about mah list in the comment section.
