Automated Software for Webinars – Pro’s and Con’s

It’s been a long time coming – the battle between the venerable and ever-present Internet Marketing Product Launch  versus the block & tackle techniques of Webinar Marketing.

Many argue that Product Launches have run their course.  That they pollute the Internet Marketing industry with avalanches of hype and mis-placed motivations of commission-based greed. That they “don’t work” because “everybody is doing them”.

Interesting irony that everyone is doing them, yet…. they “don’t work”

I digress. :)

With that “reasoning” in hand, many have turned to Event Marketing – more specifically, Webinar Marketing to capture leads, warm prospects, and execute sales.

And the ground-swell of Webinar Marketing advocates is growing.

But, what’s the story here?  Is Webinar Marketing becoming “All the Rage” only because others are bad-mouthing Product Launches?  Or, is there something about the strategy and tactics of a Webinar that make it an alternative?

Or… what if it’s a little of both…?

To get ONE honest perspective, have a look at this video presentation from Ole Cuzin Trey’s recent Software Seminar.  And check out what sort of Automated Webinar Technology is fueling the movement of making old-school Webinars more of a “Set and Forget” marketing process.

Its definitely a little of both badmouthing product launches plus the automation aspects that is contributing to the webinar bandwagon..

..but looked upon in another way, this evergreen webinar system is really just an elevated method of doing a product launch. It achieves the same desired result in a more effecient manner.

To be honest you could use BlogTalkRadio to do this as well for less monetary investment just without many of the automation bells and whistles ;)

I’ve always been frustrated with the idea of launches since they seem to be so intense. And being on many IM lists, you get flooded with sales emails for each one.

I like this idea of the “rolling launch”. It seems more sustainable and you can spread out the impact on your servers, dealing with JV partners and the cash flow.

It still incorporates the “event” concept without the intensity behind the scenes.

I’m not sure he is completely fair about numbers though, since he compares $/registrant to $/visit to a sales page at some point in there. It would be more fair to see $/registration page view since that is the starting point for both funnels.

Well Andy – the bottom line remains the same… If the product and the purpose is not to truly help someone, but for greed – it doesn’t matter what medium is used they are still going to waste people’s time and take their money! I am not a really big fan of long drawn out launches because I feel if a person is serious about learning they will invest the time needed to learn about the product or service being offered.

With that being said… Yes, breaking the information into sections is very much needed, but a person should not have to wait a week or more to get additional information if it is available already. If you view the first then it should unlock the next and therefore, one could view according to their willingness to commit to learning more about the product or service to get to the bottom line!

If I am looking for a solution, I want it as soon as possible or I will search until I find it!!!

With Many Continued Blessings of Success to ALL!!

Hey Andy, your video is too slow to watch live in New Zealand. Too far for the bytes & pixels to swim or something. Is there a way to download it? Thanks!
