More Video Ideas from the Video Boss

When you’re thinking up of a video concept to market your business or just to pass time, you need to consider what your audience wants. The typical advertisement that shows your audience that scientific hoe-down of a product or service plus all the client testimonials might be a little too common nowadays.

In this regard, going for what your audience really likes means that you have to appeal to their hearts and minds. Consider how that video you’re about to make is going to be viral and how it’s supposed to be helpful to your viewers. Of course, while your videos themes depend on the type of industry you’re in, their sole purpose is to leave a mark that will make your viewers remember you.

Here are a few video ideas you can work on for your brand.

  • Leave a question – Whenever you’re making a video, try to leave a question to your viewers. It could be a question that’s answered by yes or no, or a rhetorical question meant to point out a specific idea that’s relevant to your brand. One simple question that’s resounded through the years concerning a brand is The Independent Newspaper’s “It is. Are you?”.
  • Post a challenge – If you’ve seen the Nike ads on TV or on YouTube, you’ll notice one startling similarity to most of them: They leave a challenge to their viewers. The “Just do it” slogan was coined originally to post a challenge to their viewers and true enough it was catchy and it basically stuck with the brand. In any case, a commercial that seeks to celebrate the triumph of the human will should always be effective enough for your viewers to keep in their minds and hearts.
  • Makes a statement – Does the phrase “Have a break. Have a Kit-Kat” ring a bell? The chocolate bar’s commercials have done a good job of making this phrase so catchy that it basically stuck with people’s subconscious. So much so that you have your friends say that phrase whenever you’re out on a break after a tiring first day at work.

This example sees how a simple statement can affect a person’s life in that having a break in this corporate fuelled world would make you keep going.  So when making a video, think of a catchy statement that can help in daily life and apply.

  • Productive parodies – There are parodies all over the Internet about songs, programs and even commercials. Some of them have little to no value at all. This is where you can capitalize – without the dangers of copyright, make a video that parodies a certain music video or movie. A parody of course has to be funny so make it as humorous as possible in that it can go viral. Just don’t go as far as this one.

There you go folks. A couple of video ideas you can work with for your online business. Let me know what you think in the comments section below. J

Until then,
