Recommended Resources: Elegant Themes

I think I saw that from an advertisement of porcelain plates, flower pots and chinaware.  Anyway, this same phrase should  apply when you’re choosing a WordPress theme for your website or blog. It’s important to remember that you have to make your site attractive enough for your visitors to keep coming back and at the same time easy to work with on the back end for you and your staff.

What I liked about it

This feature really takes away the hassles of learning advanced web design techniques and simplifies it down to literally point-and-click actions.
  • SEO friendliness – The themes were created with special consideration for SEO. They all load quickly on popular browsers and you can easily change your pages’ meta elements from the e-Panel. You can also apply canonical URLs so you don’t get in trouble with duplicate content.
  • 3rd party integration – You can easily integrate 3rd party scripts into your website through the e-Panel. This saves you from having to spend too much time in applying these scripts on individual pages and gives you more time to focus on their respective content.
  • Ad management – Elegant Themes has a place where you can insert affiliate links and banners. It even lets you place these anywhere in your website, depending on the theme you’re using.
  • Page customization – Elegant Themes has a selection of custom made pages with different functions and styles. With this, you’ll have less worries about HOW to make a page and just focus on WHAT to write on that page. Overall, Elegant themes lives up to its name, being classy yet utilitarian at the same time. I love the fact that they have such a wide selection of eye-pleasing themes.     Andy: I really like your new design. I noticed a few weeks ago that you have a new design for you blog and I was wondering what theme you are now using. Based on this post, I’m assuming that you are now using one of the themes from Elegant Themes — is that correct?

    Also, did you do customize the theme yourself or did you have someone else do that for you?

    Hey Andy,

    Not really here to bash out Elegant Themes or anything like that but I just wanted to say that almost all the features with sliders are buggy and the forum is almost non-existant to fix bugs of this matter.

    Being a computer guy myself (Systems Engineer) I need to have my reputation entirely intact in anything I support and I have to say I wouldn’t endorse Elegant Themes for a serious blog or maybe I would if they weren’t to use dynamic elements that behave weird on production.

    On the other hand, I would completely endorse your current theme, which not only looks amazing but it has so many features that I’m considering to get it myself for a few projects.

    Hope this helps other souls around here and all the best, you really rock at video man!
